My children are 17, 11 and the twins are 9 so they are fully capable but have really been leaning towards lazy here lately. So in the true heartfelt spirit I am in right now….I quit.
What is it I quit? I’m glad you asked!
I quit making kool-aid, you can open a packet, add sugar and water on your own can’t you?
I quit bringing dirty clothes down to the laundry room. I know your legs work…you’ve been running around the house since you got home from school.
I quit picking out clothes for school before bed. If you can tell me that you don’t want to wear what I picked out then you can do it yourself!
I quit washing dishes 24/7. Why do you have to have a different CLEAN cup 5 seconds after you used the last one?
But to be fair there are so many things I won’t quit doing.
I will still tuck you in for as long as you need me to. I love ending the day with giggles and little kid kisses.
I will do my best to make you feel better when you are sick. There’s nothing like holding you in my lap and hugging you when you feel bad.
I will always be an ear to listen whenever you need me. No one understands you better than I do and I will do my best to steer you in the right direction.
I will always get in your butt when you do wrong. Life is about balance, and I can’t let you do wrong when I know I can direct you on a better path.
I will always be your biggest cheerleader when you do your best. The smile on my face is brightest when the pride in my heart is at its peak!
All in all….I think this is an even exchange….now go clean your room!
